A kettlebell is a cast-steel or cast-iron free weight shaped as a sphere with a handle on top, in either a standard or competition style. That handle is the whole point: it lets the bell swing, so one tool trains cardiovascular fitness, strength, conditioning and flexibility.
Competition Kettlebells have a smaller, squarish handle and stay the same shape and size at every weight, so your technique never has to change as you go heavier. Standard Kettlebells scale in size with the weight.
If you are starting out, begin with the Standard / Classic Kettlebells. Once your technique is solid and you want to take your strength training to the next level, upgrade to Competition Kettlebells.
You can train almost anything with a kettlebell, but they are at their best in full-body movements: swings above all, plus snatches, cleans and jerks, goblet squats and loaded carries.
Trained effectively, kettlebells build grip strength and strengthen your lower back, legs and shoulders. That translates to more power through your forearms, glutes, hamstrings and shoulders, from a tool that takes up almost no floor space and costs a fraction of a machine.
Three steps. Pick your style: Standard to start, Competition when you progress. Pick your weights: a 16kg and a 24kg cover most people. Then order: at VERVE, safety is our number one priority, all of our gym equipment is put through rigorous quality assurance testing, and orders placed before 12pm AEST are dispatched same day. You won't find better quality kettlebells on the market.
